1. About HeyMakers
HeyMakers is an online platform that connects makers (creators of handmade and artisan products) with local shops offering Rent-a-Shelf spaces. The platform is operated by Ben Nobes, trading as HeyMakers.
By creating an account or using HeyMakers, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Definitions
- "Platform" — the HeyMakers website and all related services
- "Maker" — a user who registers as a maker to browse shop listings
- "Shop Owner" — a user who registers to manage one or more shop listings
- "Listing" — a shop's profile on the platform including name, address, and details
- "Enhanced Listing" — a paid listing with additional features (photos, logo, commission rates)
- "We", "Us", "Our" — HeyMakers / Ben Nobes
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You must be based in the United Kingdom. HeyMakers is a UK-only service. By creating an account, you confirm that you are a UK resident. We are unable to accept registrations or subscriptions from individuals or businesses outside the UK.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when registering.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must verify your email address before accessing paid features.
- You must not create multiple accounts for the same person or business.
4. Maker Subscriptions
- Access to shop listings requires a paid subscription (currently £24 per year).
- Payment is taken at the time of sign-up via Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. You will be notified before renewal.
- You can cancel at any time via the "Manage Subscription" link in your account. Access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are at our discretion. If you cancel within 14 days of first purchase and have not materially used the service, you may request a refund by contacting us.
- We reserve the right to change pricing. Existing subscribers will be notified at least 30 days in advance.
5. Shop Listings
- Shop listings are added by either the shop owner or by the HeyMakers team.
- Listings added by the HeyMakers team are marked as "Admin Listed" and may not be fully up to date.
- Shop owners can claim existing listings by verifying their identity. Claims are reviewed by our team.
- New listings submitted by shop owners are reviewed before going live.
- We reserve the right to remove, edit, or suspend any listing at any time.
- Shop owners are responsible for the accuracy of their listing information.
6. Enhanced Shop Listings
- Shop owners can upgrade to an enhanced listing (currently £5 per month) for additional features.
- Enhanced features include: logo upload, photos, commission rates, maker sign-up links, and extended descriptions.
- Enhanced subscriptions renew monthly and can be cancelled at any time via the account page.
- If a shop is marked as closed, the enhanced subscription is not automatically cancelled. The shop owner should cancel via their account.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute shop listing data from the platform
- Share your account credentials or subscription access with others
- Submit false, misleading, or spam information
- Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
- Upload inappropriate, offensive, or copyrighted content
8. Intellectual Property
- The HeyMakers name, logo, design, and platform code are owned by Ben Nobes.
- Content you upload (photos, descriptions, logos) remains your property, but you grant us a licence to display it on the platform.
- You must not upload content you do not have the right to use.
9. Limitation of Liability
- HeyMakers is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that the platform will be available at all times or free from errors.
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of shop listings, particularly those marked as "Admin Listed".
- We are not a party to any arrangement between makers and shops. Any agreement to rent shelf space is solely between the maker and the shop.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
10. Reporting Issues
If you find inaccurate information or experience issues, you can:
- Use the "Report an Issue" feature on any shop listing
- Raise a support ticket from your dashboard
- Email us directly at support@heymakers.co.uk
11. Termination
- You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
- Upon termination, your access ceases immediately and your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
